Dear Friends and Members of the Sydney Schubert Society,

The year is about to close and we are looking to convene for our final Schubertiade on December 7 at 2.30pm at the Goethe Institute, Woollahra. For this last gathering we are fortunate to welcome two of Sydney’s very best: Pianists Daniel Herscovitch and Clemens  Leske perform with “four hands” some of Schubert’s wonderful music  in  this genre plus  additional masterworks  for an orchestral exploration of the sonority of the piano. I attach a flyer about the program and invite you and  your friends very warmly to attend. You will  agree  that  this  Schubertiade  will  be  a  feast  for Schubert  lovers as the  piano  music for four  hands features substantially in Schubert’s work and opens a  unique  vista towards the composer’s imagination. We will  hear late  works, including  the famous Fantasie  f  minor and  the Duo in  a  minor-performed with virtuosity by two  magnificent artists who have compiled this program with much thoughtfulness. I am looking forward to seeing you there!

Please make a note of our draft dates for 2015: We are looking to hold Schubertiades on April 26, July 5, August 16 (including AGM), October 18 and December 6 in 2015 pending confirmation of all venues and artists. Our website will contain the most up-to-date information shortly.

Finally, Ross Hayes’ is calling  for  your  nomination  of Schubert’s  top-ten Lieder from you.  Please email Ross directly yourlist of your top ten at hayesross0@gmail.com!

I am looking forward to seeing you on December 7 at the Goethe Institute for a Schubertian feast involving four hands and some feet to celebrate a year with Schubert’s music,

With warm greetings and very best regards,

Yours,

Goetz RichterPresident,
